The Hillsound® Trail Crampon PRO combines some of the benefits of a traditional crampon with the comfort and ease of use of a non-technical crampon.

Designed for those seeking aggressive traction in backcountry winter pursuits, the PROs provide unparalleled grip on low to medium grade ascents and a range of terrain, including packed snow and ice. Utilizing simple ratchet buckle bindings, these crampons can be fastened effortlessly to most hiking footwear.

While these crampons share some features of climbing or mountaineering crampons, they are not designed for technical ascents or ice climbing.

    Great Deal

These look like good quality and were a good price. I haven't tried them out yet because I fell on the ice and fractured my wrist. Somewhat ironic.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We hope you are able to get back on the trails with your crampons in no time!

    Trail Crampon Pro FTW!

Ii was looking for an in between traction set that was better than micro spikes and not semi auto crampons. These fit the bill perfectly. Adjustable and good quality. Looking forward to putting them through their paces this weekend in the Cascades.

Hi Zach, thanks for leaving us a great 5-star review! We're glad to hear that the Trail Crampon Pro is exactly what you've been looking for. We hope you had a blast in the Cascades!

    Not good enough

I agree with another review that the product is not reliable. I bought these few years ago, used once, then packed away dry and out of the light. Took them out to use again and the straps and one buckle had broken/fallen off. Not good enough for essential safety gear. I recommend spend a bit more and get a better product.

    Unfortunate

Picked these up at a local shop on my way back from a hike in NH. Had been looking to a better mid range option between slip on mirco spikes and full crampons. Was skeptical about so much plastic but was assured I'd like them. Went for a simple 5mile hike the very next day as a gear shack down nothing too crazy. one thing I was not impressed with was a buckle on the medial side of my boot on narrow sections I was made aware of the buckles as they hit one another. On the return trail the strap broke at it's pivot point on the right boot leaving me with a somewhat useless piece of safety gear. The plate on the underside did keep snow from packing into the sole but the buckle and the failure on it's very first shack down make this a NO go. Money is not the issue I will spend money on good gear but I expect and demand that I can trust my gear; a failure like this doesn't earn second chances with me.
