      Great for winter fishing

Just finished 4 days of winter steelhead fishing. Free steps worked great on slippery rocks and fast currents. Easy to put on and take off. Like any other spiked footwear, snow did gather on the crampons but was easily removed with a foot stomp while walking. Highly recommended!

      Broke on the first hike

Used these crampons for the first time on a 2 hour winter hike with lots of snow. They worked well for most of the hike but towards the end, one of the chain links bent open and the chain fell loose. When I got home I was easily able to bend it back with pliers (it appears that the steel used is very soft). I have not used them since due to concern for durability. Would not buy again.

      Sizing

Honestly, I haven't used them yet. The sizing chart is whacked. Used the chart and bought a L. Tried to but them on my boot and just about needed power tools, and when on, the stiff rubber was causing the boot to bunch up, making my feet hurt. And this was in a nice warm house. The size is so far off, the back cleat is about 2 inches from the back of the heal. I think the cleat should be much closer to the back (like in the pictures) for traction when putting your foot down while walking.

      Soft metal wears quickly!

I bought these about 6 months ago for Fly fishing in Utah during the winter. I went about 7 times over the 2017-2018 season and the metal connections are worn where the boot meets metal and they've broken in one spot near the toe. I really wished these would last longer.
